Today, Elena Olinevich is here with her Winter Wonderland Card Set in honor of our #G45Card Challenge. She has created an impressive variety of cards from this collection that include fantastic details such as fussy cut and embellishment flowers, die cut images from the collection, and fun additions such as pearl ornaments. Winter Wonderland Cards
“When it comes to Christmas, there are never enough cards to be given to family and friends.
Well, you may think I already had a plan for the cards, while working on this project, but I still don't. Even so, I had a blast making them and it was so difficult to stop.
That is why I decided to share some tips that can be useful when you create the cards.
1. First, and what I do more often lately, add many layers and flowers
For all of my cards here, I used Winter Wonderland collection. I die cut the birds images with my oval dies mostly. They were the main focus.
I arranged the flowers and holly leaves around the image and added a few fussy cut flowers too.
It’s a good option to make a smaller size of cards, especially if you have the leftovers on your desk. I prefer to use them immediately, so that there is no chance for them to be lost.
While arranging the flowers, try to combine the different sizes. The medium ones are the perfect, but you can also mix in the flat and dimensional flowers too.
You can use the cardstock to frame your image and embellish it with the pearls
Most often I use the oval shapes for my cards, but actually, any square forms look great with the images too. You may try different die cuts for this.
Another option is to cut out the image of the bird. If it is a medium size, you can add more paper layers or fussy cut flowers, for instance.
For more dimension, you can foam pad some of the layers so that they pop up on the background.
You can use more cut out images and arrange them around the main one.
You can finish your cards series with the simple cards. For one of my cards, I used the Christmas tree image and added pearls as the ornament balls. It is a good option for masculine cards.
