CHRISTMAS TIME CARDS
It is the time to be Merry! Christmas is a magical time of the year and making Christmas cards is a favorite past-time for many Graphic 45’ers. I am sharing today 3 simple Christmas cards using Graphic 45 Christmas Time collection and their Gear background die. I love steampunk and I am so excited about this paper line.
Supplies Used:
(3) 8½ x 11” Black Cardstock – card base
8 x 8” Graphic 45 Christmas Time Collection (just a couple of sheets)
(4) 12 x 12” Graphic 45 Christmas Time Pattern and Solids (one of each color)
Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Gold Metallic paper (or similar gold paper)
Optional: Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Vintage Photo (for inking your papers)
Below are directions on how to make each card and a video tutorial to follow along with.
CARD 1
Card base: 10 x 6” black cardstock, scored at 5” on the 10” side. First layer mat and inside mat: 4½ x 5½”. Second layer: 4 x 5”. Cut out of gold paper the gear die, which is about 3⅜ x 4½”. The “Merry Christmas” is a PoppyStamp die called Vintage Merry Christmas. The red mat for the “Merry Christmas” is 3 x 1½”.
Attach your first two layers, centered, with ¼” border. Then attach the rest.
CARD 2
Card Base: 6¼ x 10½”, scored at 5¼” on the 10½” side. First layer mat and inside mat: 5¾ x 4¾”. Second mat: 5¼ x 4¼”. Cut out of gold paper the gear die, which is about 3⅜ x 4½”. The “The Magic of Christmas” piece is a cut apart piece from the collection, which is about 3⅜ x 2⅜” and the mat size is 3⅝ x 2⅝”. Like the 1st Card, attach the first 2 layers, centered, with ¼” border, then the gears, then the cut apart piece on the mat, centered.
CARD 3
Card base: 6 x 11”, scored at 5½” on the 11” side. First layer mat and inside mat: 5 x 5½”. Second layer: 4½ x 5”. Cut out of gold paper the gear die, which is about 3⅜ x 4½”. The Santa and Tree is a cut apart piece. I did not add a mat to this piece.
Attach the first two layers, then the gears, then the cut apart piece.
I hope these cards inspire you to make your own.” ~Melissa
