Warm Wishes Stamped Tags

By Elisabeth Hogarth

“I love a traditional Christmas and Graphic 45’s Warm Wishes collection perfectly encapsulates the festive season.  Not only do I adore the papers because of their stunning colours and imagery: I am also a big fan of the coordinating stamp set.

I have made a set of tags to compliment a gift-wrapped present.  They can easily be made using decorative papers, however, the stamps can be incorporated too.

#G45Reel

Use the G45 Square Tag die to cut a white cardstock base and a decorative paper base.

Use one shade of red ink (I used Versafine Clair Tulip Red) to stamp the Poinsettia across the white tag.  To add depth decide where the “first generation” of ink will work best.  Then stamp again “second generation” and “third generation” in a random pattern.

It may look a little messy, to begin with, but keep going until the space is covered.  Remember to leave some white gaps too!

Repeat the process using deep pink ink (I used Versafine Clair Glamorous)

Next stamp the chosen sentiment in black ink (I used Versafine Clair Nocturne).  Then add a strip of banner ribbon to tie in the colours with the reverse of the tag.

Now add the Warm Wishes decorative papers to the reverse of the tag.

Flip the tag back over and complete it by adding a piece of chevron “Triumphant Red” Trim and three or five small diamante embellishments.

The stamped side can be used as the main focus of the tag.  Alternatively, the sentiments can be added to the lighter areas of the design.

Either way makes a charming festive tag.

To complete the look.  Wrap your smaller gifts using the 12×12 Warm Wishes papers,  Then add the decorative tag into the front pocket.

The chevron “Triumphant Red” Trim compliments the look.

These tags are relatively quick to create and a great way to use the scraps left over from card-making.  The added bonus of working with the stamps is the ability to use any colour in any pattern.  The choice is yours!

Happy crafting!”

Love Elisabeth xx

HINTS AND TIPS

Stamp onto super smooth cardstock.

Allow the ink to dry completely before adding the sentiment and the embellishments.

Use two shades of the same colour family.

Remember to keep going even if the first layer of stamping looks a mess.
